How I get involved: My first involvement was with the departmental club BUGS (biology undergraduate society) as the first year rep. As well I was involved in science orientation week this year. Other clubs include improv, one match and a science ambassadors.

Why I love my program

I got into this program because of my initial interest into the sciences and specifically biology. I chose ecology because it includes aspects of all science disciplines. I continue to love it thanks to courses such as bio 150 and earth 121L which taught me about fascinating creatures and gave me hands on learning experiences.

Why University of Waterloo?

I was attracted to UW because it offered the environmental science program with multiple specializations. As well I liked the look and layout of the campus; majority of the buildings are all held within ring road yet it is also a larger campus with plenty to explore. My favourite thing about campus is the community of students, especially within the science faculty.
