Why I love my program

I first became interested in Earth Sciences, when I realized that I wanted to be a scientist, but I wanted to spend most of my time working outdoors. Once I began, I quickly spring boarded into a passion for hydrogeology and the mining industry, which has offered me a plethora of complex, challenging, and rewarding career paths around the world. Not only has working as a hydrogeologist allowed me to travel, but I feel as if I'm making a real difference in the lives of people, communities, and the environment through my work.

Why University of Waterloo?

When I first toured the University of Waterloo, I instantly fell in love with the culture of the school. Everyone I met was so friendly, passionate, and had such incredible stories to share about their classes and co-op jobs--which made me think: "maybe that will be me one day!" Now, as a student at Waterloo, I'm always grateful of the opportunities that are available to me. Whether it's volunteering on campus, being able to connect with professors 1-on-1 because of small class sizes, or seeking academic support through one of the on-campus tutoring services, I know that people here care about my success, and want to see my dreams come true.
