Stream of study: Co-op
Career goal: Researching something in the very very broad field of materials science or nanoscience.
Favourite food: Salami
How I get involved: Orientation leader (Sci-eye and front-line leader), VP of MNS Soc.
Why I love my program
I found the polymers unit in high school chemistry really cool and once I started digging into what materials science was I found MNS and knew it was exactly what I wanted. I like how though the field is very broad there's a lot that can be done with the large set of knowledge in physics and chemistry the program prepares you with. Learning about the nitty gritty about things around me and why things behave the way they do and getting that feeling of "OOOOOHHHHHH THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE NOW" is unlike any other.
Why University of Waterloo?
I like how the first-year isn't general, having MNS courses starting in your very first term. The program is unique, the option of having co-op and gaining work experience throughout my undergrad is a big plus! Also, with the Waterloo Institute of Nanotechnology (WIN) just nearby, it's cool to know things I could pursue are happening right on campus!
