Stream of study: Co-op
Career goal: To become a professor with a leading research group in a field related to biochemistry. And to teach hard but useful courses that inspire students.
Favourite food: Calamari
How I get involved: I have volunteered for the Science undergraduate clubs: Science and Business Student Association (SBSA),BUGS, and Biochemistry Student Association (BSA). If I'm not in any of those rooms, I am in the iGEM lab working on the yearly project! This year I was also gifted with the amazing opportunity to be a part of Science Orientation which I highly recommend to all incoming students who are interested.
Why I love my program
I love Biology and find most concepts come quite naturally with some work but I chose Biochemistry because my life wouldn't be complete without the challenges I face in my chemistry courses. Finding something confusing and trying to overcome it is what I think higher education should be about, so I picked Biochemistry because it challenges me and that's the reason why I love it.
Why University of Waterloo?
I was drawn to the environment on campus. The people I have met here inspire me to perform at my best as well as enjoy my time here through getting involved in research, clubs, and events. I felt that I belonged here as soon as I arrived because I am surrounded by like-minded people who want to innovate and discover ways to change the world for the better.
