Why I love my program
What I love most about my program is that it suited my interests perfectly. I really wanted to help people and work in the medical field, but there were some aspects of biology that I wasn’t interested in, and being a doctor didn’t seem like a good fit for me. Around the same time that I discovered I wasn’t into biology, I found out that I really enjoyed chemistry. So it seemed like I was going to have to choose one or the other, but then I found the Medicinal Chemistry program. So far I’ve taken courses that cover only the aspects of biology that I like and all of the chemistry that I want to learn about. In conclusion, my program really suits my interests and goals, which is why I like it so much.
Why University of Waterloo?
A huge reason I chose UWaterloo is because it had the program that seemed like it would give me a great start in the field that I’m interested most in. I really value work experience, so going to the school with the best co-op around really appealed to me. But aside from academics, it really comes down to the feel I got when I first visited during March open house. Whether it was the facilities, clubs, classrooms, campus, you name it, it’s hard to just pick out one thing and say that’s why I made the decision I did. But what I can say is that out of all the other schools I visited, I felt the most at home at UWaterloo which in the end is why I chose it.
