Advisory Committee on Traffic Violations and Parking

It is recognized that traffic violations and parking of vehicles affects most users of the campus. In order to obtain user views on existing and future policies related to traffic violations and parking, a committee advisory to the vice-president, academic & provost is established to permit a regularized basis for review of the policies and procedures associated with traffic violations and parking.

Terms of reference

  • To receive and consider any submissions by individuals or groups on traffic violations and parking matters.
  • To consider and recommend university policies on traffic violations and parking. Review and recommend on amounts, application, and methods of collecting parking fees for parking and traffic violations.
  • Review and recommend the updating and maintenance of parking rules and regulations and the publication of booklets, notices, and other materials (whether in print or online) publicizing these.


The committee shall consist of six voting members as follows:

  • 1 faculty member
  • 1 undergraduate student
  • 1 graduate student
  • 1 staff member
  • 1 CUPE representative
  • The parking manager, ex officio, who shall serve as secretary

The director, police services (or designate) shall be an ex officio, non-voting member of the committee.

The chair is to be selected by the committee. The members are appointed for three-year terms  by the vice-president, academic & provost.


All recommendations of the committee will be processed through the director, custodial & grounds services to the vice-president, academic & provost for consideration and approval.

The committee should meet normally not less than three times per year.
