Faculty of Engineering - Senate 2025

Marc Aucoin

For the past 3 years, I have served as a representative on senate (and board of governors). With my past experience as interim and acting chair of the department of chemical engineering, and associate chair undergrade studies and operations, as well as being a faculty member for close to 20 yrs, I believe that my voice articulates a depth of experiences that represents a wide range of voices.

David Clausi

As a nominee for Engineering faculty representative, I look forward to returning to Senate and making further contributions to the University of Waterloo and our Faculty. I have had prior experience on Senate, as well as Board of Governors and a Presidential Nominating Committee. My strong academic career is defined by outstanding research and teaching, publishing extensive papers and supervising many students in intelligent systems, plus a successful spin-off company. I was once Associate Chair – Graduate Studies and recently completed the Associate Dean – Research and Partnerships in the Faculty of Engineering position – onwards to new contributions!

Marc Hurwitz

My focus as a member of Senate would be to do everything possible to maintain the high standards of research and teaching that we do at UW. It is true that we face difficult financial times. Because of that, it will take all our creativity and collective will not to let slip what makes UW special. I have been faculty here for over a decade, most of which I also worked as associate director of my department. I bring that experience along with over 20 years corporate and entrepreneurial experience to the table.
