Faculty of Environment - Senate 2025

Jennyfer Lynes Murray

I am looking forward to being part of Senate for a second term. I bring to the table over 20 years of experience at UW in various leadership positions, including nine years as program director, extensive curriculum development, co-creation of a community of practice for interdisciplinary teaching, advocacy for sustainability initiatives as well as policy changes related to parental leave for pre-tenure professors. I also have industry experience in finance and marketing. My general approach places strong emphasis on community-building, empathy and looking at issues from multiple perspectives.

Jeffrey Wilson

As director of the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development, I am well-positioned to contribute key viewpoints of the faculty to the Senate and be in a position to communicate key messages back to constituents. This is especially important as we navigate the challenging financial times and the upcoming change in leadership. I have board experience outside of academia and previous experience sitting on the Senate at Dalhousie University. I bring a positive attitude and commitment to advancing FES and UW interests.

Clarence Woudsma

I am deeply committed to the wellbeing of all in the University of Waterloo community and I have valued the opportunities to provide representation and leadership throughout my 20 plus years in the Faculty of Environment. We are no doubt facing significant challenges but these also provide space for considering fresh approaches. I know the Faculty of Environment well and I've worked across the institution and with external stakeholders in a range of capacities related to research, teaching, student health and advancement. As a Faculty of Environment member of Senate, I would contribute my experience, skills and ideas to the governance of our institution at a critical juncture and comprehensively represent the Environment community. Thank you.
