At the Tuesday 7 April 2015 meeting, the University of Waterloo Board of Governors approved guidelines regarding the election of staff members to Board. These new guidelines were approved in accordance with section B.6 of Board of Governors Bylaw 1, which states:
In accordance with section 11.5 of the Act, two members of the full-time staff of the University are elected as members of the Board in such rotation and prior to the times their terms expire, in accordance with procedures determined and established by the Board from time to time. Members of the full-time staff shall hold office for a period of three years.
