 g Ceremony: FRIDAY\, OCTOBER 27 AT 10:00 AM\n\nFor the Opening Ceremony\,
  we are requesting volunteers to read the\nnames — please contact Sorou
 ja Moll. \n\nBoth ceremonies will take place at the Ceremonial Fire Groun
 ds and the\nbridge between Environment 3 and United College\, and will be 
 followed\nby a catered Creative Reflection and Soup Lunch hosted by the\nS
 hatitsirótha' Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre (WISC) with support\nfro
 m the Department of Communication Arts.\n\nWorking with Shatitsirótha' Wa
 terloo Indigenous Student Centre\n(WISC)\, the Office of Indigenous Relati
 ons (ORI)\, the Sexual Violence\nPrevention Response Office (SVPRO)\, and 
 16 Days of Activism Against\nGender-Based Violence\, Dr. Sorouja Moll init
 iated Bridge in 2015 to\ncreate a space for all University community membe
 rs to learn about the\ncrisis as they reflect upon their responsibilities 
 and share in\nspeaking the names of the lives taken to honour and remember
  as the\nred fabric is tied to the bridge between Environment 3 and United
 \nCollege.\n\nThe gesture to name\, remember\, and honour the 5000+ missin
 g and\nmurdered Indigenous Women\, Girls\, and Two Spirit People across th
 e\nmany Nations in Canada is an active engagement in learning about the\nd
 epth of the crisis in the Canada while resisting and (en)countering\nthe e
 xisting silence that continues to shroud it.\n\nOriginally installed in Mo
 ntreal in 2009\, as The Writing Names\nProject\, Moll's research-creation 
 initiative is a counter memorial and\nis part of a meaningful and sustaine
 d collaborative intercultural\npraxis between Indigenous and non-Indigenou
 s communities.\n\nAll are invited to stay for a Soup Lunch\n[https://uwat
 erloo.ca/united-college/soup-and-bannock-days] hosted by\nthe Shatitsiró
