 L 1239\n\nPlease join us for a discussion between visiting artist Laura\nM
 agnusson and Meaghan Ross\, Sexual Violence Response Coordinator at\nthe 
 Sexual Violence Prevention Response Office\, University of\nWaterloo. They
  will discuss themes relating to trauma and resilience\nin relation to the
  artist’s current exhibition _I was Wearing\nGolden Clamshell Earrings
 _ on display at the University of Waterloo\nArt Gallery through March 4.\
 n\nIn addition to the discussion there will be a participatory activity\ni
 nspired by the artist’s drawing installation _74 Minutes_.\n\nRanging f
 rom video and sculpture\, to drawing and archival materials\,\nthe artwork
 s in the exhibition collectively express a form of\n“embodied testimony
 ” based on the artist’s research and her\nlived experience as a sexual
  assault survivor. Drawing parallels\nbetween her own experience of gender
 -based violence with the violence\nroutinely inflicted upon the ecology of
  the ocean floor\, Magnusson’s\nwork invites empathy and contemplation o
 f difficult\, often suppressed\ntopics.\n\nPlease be advised that this exh
 ibition includes themes of sexual\nviolence and trauma\, which some viewer
 s may find distressing. It may\nalso be the case that some viewers may no
 t notice any impact until\nafter engaging with the exhibit. A list of avai
