Policy 42 Review: Community Feedback
The University of Waterloo is committed to cultivating a safe and inclusive environment where every member of the community can feel safe, without the fear of gender-based and sexual violence.
With this commitment top-of-mind, we’ve updated the University’s related policy and are engaging the community for feedback.
We want to hear from you.
Draft Policy 42 – Soliciting Feedback
The University of Waterloo invites members of the University community to review and provide feedback on the newly redrafted Policy 42 – Gender-Based and Sexual Violence Alleged Against Students.
Full draft of policy below:
The updated draft reflects feedback received from the community on current practices, extensive discussion, and the consideration of expert guidance and practices at other institutions.
Key proposed changes include the formal inclusion of gender-based violence under the policy’s scope, a refined approach for addressing incidents occurring off-campus and unrelated to university activities, and a change in decision-making authority from Associate Deans to the Associate Provost, Students. Providing feedback will help to ensure your voice is heard in the shaping of the final draft of the Policy.
