Undergraduate Co-op Student
Holly Smale is a third-year undergraduate co-op Planning student at the University of Waterloo. She was employed under the supervision of Ian Rowlands during the Winter 2017 term, working on the NSERC Energy Storage Technologies Network research project 4.6: Social Acceptance of Energy Storage Systems. Holly conducted primary research assessing the general public’s knowledge and acceptance energy storage projects at the community level. A web-based survey was conducted in Kitchener/Waterloo to gain a better understanding of the public’s general knowledge, awareness, and opinions on energy storage. The results of this study are available in the project Working Paper 2017-02, "A gap analysis: Community acceptance of energy storage projects".
