Alumni David Hofmann has recently learned a fourth article has been accepted from the sandwich dissertation he did with the department (2016). This is a department first!
The dissertation has 5 chapters – including the introduction and the conclusion. When he defended two chapters had already been published by Studies in Conflict and Terrorism ( a leading journal), and one was submitted to the Journal of Strategic Studies – it was later published in 2016.
Now a slightly modified version of the Introduction has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Criminological Research, Policy and Practice. That means everything except the brief Conclusion has been published as a refereed article. This is something for us to celebrate and indicates how advantageous the sandwich dissertation format can be – if handled well.
David is a success story in general with his tenure-track position at UNB. Congratulations, David!
