To be considered for a Legal Studies major, students must have completed a minimum of at least one Legal Studies course.
Once you meet the requirements, you need to fill out and sign a plan modification form. The form needs to be emailed to the Sociology & Legal Studies Department for processing. Please direct questions and submit the forms to your advisor.
If you qualify for the requested plan, your new plan will show on your Quest account within two weeks.

The cumulative average requirements for continuation in the various Legal Studies academic plans are as follows:
You need to have 60% overall and 65% in Legal Studies courses.
You need to have 60% overall and 70% in Legal Studies courses.
You need to have 60% overall, 70% in Legal Studies courses, and 70% in the Arts and Business courses.
You need to have 60% overall, 70% in Legal Studies, and the average requirement specified for the second major.
Students enrolled in any degree program may pursue a minor designation in Legal Studies.
The Legal Studies Minor requires successful completion of a minimum of four academic course units (eight courses) with a minimum cumulative average of 65%.
