We are delighted to announce that this year our Fall Lecture Series will be given by :
Professor Vilma Páez Pérez, Research Center for Cultural and Identity Issues, Universidad de Holguín, Cuba.
'Cuban Society and Culture'
Cuban culture is made up of a mixture of several intertwined cultures in such a way that it constitutes an excellent example of transculturation. It is, precisely, the sense of belonging to a culture what makes Cubans very proud of our national culture. Being Cuban is more than being open, friendly, happy and good dancers. Then…what makes Cubans, Cubans?
The presentation shall be held with our SPAN 150 (The Hispanic World through Literature and the Arts ) students on:- Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:30am to 1pm in ML 349. Refreshments will be served at 11:30am.
Presentation will be in English. All are welcome!
