Rosalía Cornejo Parriego is Professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Ottawa. She is the author of La escritura posmoderna del poder and Entre mujeres: Política de la amistad y el deseo en la narrativa española contemporánea, editor of the collection of essays Memoria colonial e inmigración: La negritud en la España posfranquista, and co-editor of the special issue "Queer Space" (RCEH) and the collection of essays Un hispanismo para el siglo XXI. Unfolding memories of a collective history

Griselda Zuffi is a Full Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Hood College, Maryland. Her research focuses on post dictatorship testimonial narratives of the Southern Cone that denounce the effects of authoritarian discourses. She has done extensive research on topics such as discursive representations of Peronism through fiction, the uses of history in Chilean women writers of the XIX and XX century, and the relationship of human rights groups, journalists and women writers to the government.

We are delighted to advise you of a an upcoming lecture presentation by one of our alum.   Dr. Rebecca Janzen graduated in Winter 2007 with a Joint Honours Spanish and History degree.  She currently works at Bluffton University in Ohio as Assistant Professor of Spanish.

The presentation, entitled ‘Minorities in Mexico: Mennonites, Mormons, and the 21st State’  shall be held on Wednesday evening, January 20, 2016 at 7:30pm at Conrad Grebel University, Room 2202.
