Dr. Lori Haskell: Trauma informed practice
There are new understandings of the neurobioligical structures and processes in the brain and body that relate to victim's emotional and behavioural post assault reactions and memory recall. These understandings are particularly vital to those in positions to support students with their ongoing needs.
Renowned clinical psychologist, Dr. Lori Haskell will discuss the biological nature of trauma; how specific experiences impact victim trauma, memory, reactions and behaviour, and how front line staff's interpretation of this behaviour potentially impacts how support is provided.
