Join The Games Institute on October 21, from 1-3pm, for the Racial Equity Board Games Panel, featuring race and game studies scholars DrsKishonna GrayLai-Tze Fanand Aynur Kadir.

The panelists will discuss how games can inspire conversations that confront racism and educate players about what needs to be done to address systems of white supremacy.

Registration on Eventbrite is required – registrants will be sent the meeting link via email before the event: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/racial-equity-board-games-panel-tickets-124147874635

The Games Institute is organizing this event in collaboration with the Research, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) Council and the Council for Responsible Innovation and Technology (CRIT). Together, we are launching UW’s first ever Racial Equity Board Game Showcase, under the guidance of University of Waterloo’s Office of Research and with consultation from the Equity Office. This panel aims to inspire submissions and set expectations for the showcase, which will officially open Winter, 2021.
