SUMMARY:From “What’s the Strategy” to “What Are We Choosing”
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Strategy is not a vision statement or project list. It is a set
of\ndeliberate choices that guide what we prioritize\, what we stop\, and
 \nhow we execute.\n\nThis session builds a shared\, practical definition o
f strategy\, then\ntranslates it into everyday decision-making. We draw on
Roger Martin's\nPlay to Win (connected choices\, capabilities\, managemen
 t systems)\,\nMichael Porter (tradeoffs\, focus\, what NOT to do)\, and a
brief Blue\nOcean lens for value innovation.\n\nAngela Pause shows how the
se ideas appear in Advancement\, including\nwhy choosing what we fundraise
for is strategic and how \"Why\nWaterloo?\" creates alignment. Leilei Li
presents the Engineering\nAdvancement MarComm lens: how strategy becomes m
 essage discipline\,\nchannel choices\, sequencing\, and consistent storyte
 lling that keeps\nteams aligned.
