DESCRIPTION:Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming part of everyday wo
 rk and\nlife\, and learning to use it responsibly is essential. This works
 hop\noffers a practical approach to help University of Waterloo staff buil
 d\nconfidence with AI tools while protecting privacy\, data\, and personal
 \nwell‑being. Participants will explore a 5‑step framework—rooted\ni
 n the University’s AI Principles—for responsible AI use\, with\nguidan
 ce on understanding purpose\, navigating privacy requirements\,\nand keepi
 ng people in control when working with university data. A\nshort optional 
 hands‑on activity will give participants a chance to\ntry a simple AI pr
 ompt and practice applying key concepts\, with\nalternate resources availa
 ble for those without a laptop or who prefer\nnot to participate interacti
 vely. The session will also touch on\nemerging AI‑related risks that can
  affect personal digital wellness\,\nand will direct staff to appropriate 
 mental‑health and cybersecurity\nsupport resources.
