Celebrate with us. Whether you're a current student, an alumnus, faculty member or staff, donor, supporter or community member, you are an important part of the University of Waterloo story.

In 2017, the University of Waterloo celebrates 60 years of innovation. When it was founded July 1, 1957, no one knew that a campus made up of two temporary buildings would have such a lasting impact on the world.

If you have ever used a smartphone, sent secure information online, worn contact lenses, driven a connected vehicle or read a warning on a tobacco package, research from Waterloo’s first 60 years has touched your life.
