In recognition of National Aboriginal History Month, Feds is holding a special event in collaboration with the Waterloo Aboriginal Education Centre (WAEC) and Waterloo's Aboriginal Students Association (ASA) to mark the installation of a land acknowledgement plaque at the Student Life Centre (SLC). All members of the Waterloo community are invited to join.

The plaque acknowledges that the University of Waterloo – and specifically the Federation of Students’ operations at the SLC – is situated on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishnawbe and Haudenosaunee peoples.

  • 1:30pm - The Land Acknowledgment Ceremony will include traditional songs and a few words from Feds, WAEC, ASA, Waterloo President Feridun Hamdullahpur and local MP Bardish Chagger.
  • 2:00pm - Reception at The Bombshelter Pub.
