Stephen Prentice

Director, Student Life

Stephen Prentice
Growing up in the small town of  Newcastle, Ontario, Steve has been a part of the UWaterloo community since starting his undergraduate degree, majoring in Anthropology and Religious Studies. Coming to campus accompanied by his twin brother, he lived at Ron Eydt Village and enjoyed the excitement of a large residence. Having friends in other residences Steve was drawn to Renison University College and felt comfortable immersing himself into the tight-knit residence life community. He loved his experience so much, he continued living in residence for the next two years as a Don. This is also where he met his wife Kyla.

With the desire to create great student experiences and foster tight-knit communities like the ones he experienced while at university, Steve continued working in residence life at Conestoga College before joining St. Paul’s. Now, as the Director, Student Life, he is responsible for everything related to the student experience of those living at the College throughout the year. Whether it’s the hiring and training of Dons, approval of programming like weeknight yoga or movie nights, Steve works with his team to create a safe and fun student experience for all.

When he’s not on campus, you can often find him playing on the squash court, watching an episode of The Office or listening to jazz music.
