Meet your Dons

Boy playing guitar in Alumni Hall

At St. Paul's, the most energetic, fun-loving, knowledgeable upper-year undergraduate students are selected as Dons to join the residence life team.

There are nine Dons in the Fall and Winter terms, and two in the Spring term. There is also a Community Animator who supports the GreenHouse students.

During the year, Dons will organize fun events for the residence, provide you with information about the services available on campus and will show you how access them. Since we have a Don on every floor, you only have to walk down the hall if you want to chat.

What's so great about the Dons?

Why do you love St. Paul's?
I like the community feeling that you get around St. Paul's. It's a small community of like-minded individuals since many of the students are in the Faculty of Environment. These are people you take classes with, do assignments together, eat together, including many other things. Even if you are not in Environment, the small community makes you feel like you are home away from home.

Why do you love St. Paul's?
I love how invested the St. Paul's staff is in making everyone's time there great. When I started at Waterloo I knew only two people on the whole campus and I was afraid I wouldn't make any real friends. My fears were unfounded, as my roommate and I clicked instantly. We were hand-picked to live together, and so were the people around us. The people in my hallway became some of my closest friends, most of whom I still talk to every day.
