Learning 2030

The TVO crew paid a visit to Communitech in Kitchener this fall for a look into the future of education. Titled, “TVO on the Road: Learning 2030”, the series is a look at the potential academic experience of the children born today, who will be graduating high school in the year 2030. Stratford Campus Director of Academic Programs, Christine McWebb, joined a panel of educators and researchers interviewed by host Steve Paikin.

Last night at our first Family Night for the Global Business and Digital Arts program, we heard from four different experts in the field about their careers and the possibilities out there.

This lunch hour, we participated in Stratford’s Small Business Week, and hosted a session on businesses using Twitter. We had a great conversation on why small businesses would want to be on Twitter, how they can use it for conversation, network building, and marketing. We also talked about what to do when a mistake occurs.

One of the first speakers we're going to highlight is an award winning Canadian documentary filmmaker. For five years, she was the National Film Board of Canada's Filmmaker-in-Residence at an inner-city hospital. This many-media project won a 2008 Webby Award, a Banff Award and a Canadian New Media Award.
