Funding and awards

There’s no doubt that university is a big investment. But there are ways that the University of Waterloo and the Government of Ontario can help.

Entrance Scholarships

Available to students entering a first-year program and beginning post-secondary studies for the first time in Fall 2014. No application is required.

Admission average Scholarship Amount
95% + President's Scholarship of Distinction $2,000 + $1,500 International Experience Award and/or $1,500 Research Award
90-94.9% President's Scholarship $2,000
85-89.9% Merit Scholarship $1,000

Donor Scholarships

Thanks to generous donors and friends, we are able to offer scholarships and awards for incoming GBDA students. The following awards are available for those entering in Fall 2015:

eJust Systems Inc. GBDA Scholarship
One scholarship, valued at $2,500, is provided annually to a student entering Year One of the GBDA program. Selection will be based on academic achievement (minimum average of 80%), and students must demonstrate significant extracurricular involvement, such as community events, athletics, leadership roles, etc. This fund is made possible by a donation from eJust Systems Inc. No application is necessary.

NA Engineering Associates Inc. GBDA Entrance Award 
One award, valued at $2,500 is provided annually
 to a student entering Year One of the GBDA program. Selection will be based on academic achievement (minimum average of 85%), and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students who reside in Perth County. This fund is made possible by a donation from NA Engineering Associates Inc. No application is necessary. 

Bursaries

Bursaries are funding based on financial need – values range from $500 - $4000. For information about qualifications and application deadlines visit the Bursaries section of the Find Out More website.

Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)
