Prospective students, international businesspeople, and local designers alike – some from as far away as Turkey – were clamouring to attend the one-day BLND conference, billed as a “business and design party.”
Manager of the Stratford Accelerator Centre Chase Denomme said event organizers filled a wait list with a lot of dejected people in the final few days leading up to Saturday's sold-out event.
“We were full, and we were actually getting phone calls from people in different countries asking if the talks were being recorded because they wanted to watch them,” he said. “There was a few people that walked in yesterday with business cards and were explaining...why they think they should be allowed to come. I was getting bombarded with emails.”
With a buzz like that, what could go wrong?
