University of Waterloo student Ariana Cuvin's design to be used for Canada's 150th birthday celebrations

A design by a student at the University of Waterloo's Stratford campus is now part of Canadian history.

The multi-coloured maple leaf design created by 19-year-old second-year global business and digital arts student Ariana Cuvin was recently chosen from among 300 submissions across the country to the Department of Canadian Heritage logo contest.

It will be used on all official Canadian government communications and material related to Canada's 150th birthday in 2017.

"We are thrilled for Ariana and congratulate her on her success," said Christine McWebb, director of academic programs at the U of W Stratford campus.
