University of Waterloo student-run OneHome campaign benefits Syrian refugees

What started as a school project for Laura Seyers and her classmates has reached far beyond the walls of the University of Waterloo Stratford campus.

All the way to Syria, in fact.

Seyers, a fourth-year Global Business and Digital Arts (GBDA) student, is the head of marketing for a new student-run initiative called OneHome, which is raising money to help improve the lives of Syrian refugees affected by civil war there.

"This semester, we were asked to create a social awareness campaign of some sort," noted Seyers, "and we were presented with a challenge to combat violent extremism."

OneHome was the response.
