Federal Student Aid - U.S. Department of Education

The University of Waterloo does not currently participate in the disbursement of funds through the U.S. Department of Education's Direct Loan Program. We are an eligible institution for the purpose of granting students an in-school deferment of prior Federal Direct Student Loans.

Students and families may wish to withdraw funds from their U.S. 529 Plan which requires our OPE ID school code #00852600. Please check with your State's Plan Administrator if the University of Waterloo meets their definition  as an eligible school as policies vary between plans.
