A celebration of cultures

Cultural Caravan.

A celebration of cultural diversity will be rocking the Student Life Centre this evening, at the Federation of Students' annual Cultural Caravan celebrations.

The celebratory event has become an annual UWaterloo tradition, showcasing a number of cultural-themed performances by Feds clubs. Last year's event saw a turn-out of close to 700 students in the Student Life Centre's Great Hall.

Fizza Tariq is one of the students coordinating this year's celebration.

Being a Coordinator for Cultural Caravan this year has been an amazing and an eye-opening experience. The position has pushed me out of my comfort zone. I’m so thankful I’ve had the chance to work with an amazing team. Even with the immense organization and dedication required to be a coordinator, I have only grown and been fortunate enough to personally learn about the startling talent and diversity present at our university. It was has been a pleasure and an honour to organize Cultural Caravan 2015 and I wouldn't take a second back. -Fizza Tarriq

Fizza’s co-coordinator, mathematics student Zainab Mansoor, is excited to see the hard work spent in organizing the event come together at tonight's show.

Being a coordinator for any Feds event is always challenging work. There are late meetings involved, chasing deadlines and a lot of legwork. But, at the end of the day, it’s always exciting and action-packed. My favourite part has definitely been interacting with the different performer and seeing how much hard work they have put it. -Zainab Mansoor
