Students from our favourite UWaterloolife blog posts.Whether or not you have been keeping track, the countdown to winter break has officially started. As we complete the term, we’ve decided to have our own countdown to highlight some of our favourite student success stories and tips from the UWaterloo Life Blog.

The blog launched in 2013 to showcase stories written by students for students. Since then, the blog’s co-op student writers have covered many different experiences from all six faculties to spread Warrior stories of successes big and small. With a whopping total of 380 stories written over five years, we’re sharing a few of our favourites from our 14 co-op student bloggers. There were many amazing stories written over the years, but here are our faves:

8. Shattering Stigma with Creativity 

It is always amazing to see what students can do when they put their mind to something! In order to raise awareness for mental health, the Stand Up to Stigma club held an art showcase where students translated their feelings about living with mental health issues into masterpieces.

Survival PASS kits for mental health.Carla writes the origin story of Tina Chan, a student who created Panic Anxiety and Stress Support (PASS) kits to support mental health and help students during stressful times. PASS kits are now available everywhere today!

Discover why the Theta Psi chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Waterloo decided to release a video encouraging students to break the silence against sexual assault.

Buttons that say "you are my ___".Taylor N. tells a positive story about how Alyana Versolatto took a school project and turned it into so much more. There is power in telling people how much you appreciate them.

Ever wonder what the story was behind the beautifully paved Davis Centre Courtyard? You won't have to any longer, as Taylor S. documents how Elspeth Holland’s dream to revitalize the busy pathway became a reality. Read about how the courtyard most of us walk through everyday started as a sustainable initiative.
