The spring semester is a great time to be on campus. The sun is shining, the flowers are in full bloom and the weather is warm.
Given all of these wonderful things it can be very easy to get distracted and motivation can become difficult to tap into. Here at the SSO we understand the struggle that comes with wanting to just lie in the sun but still needing to focus on assignments. We have searched far and wide in order to bring you our top tips on how to have the most successful spring term.
This is the first and arguably the most crucial step to ensuring success during the spring term. Take a look at your syllabus and begin to fill in a calendar making yourself aware of upcoming due dates and deadlines. Even if making a day-to-day schedule is not something that is conducive to your learning style, being aware of upcoming tasks is an extremely effective way to get in the groove of time management and starting the term off right.

Take advantage of Welcome Week

Get your textbooks early
Being prepared and starting classes on the right foot is essential to having a successful term. You can ensure your success by getting ahead and securing all the books you will need in the first week. If you don’t want to buy all your textbooks brand new, there are plenty of options around campus for purchasing textbooks or you can always access your course reserves in the Library.
