Are you a Masters or PhD student who will be completing your program soon? Are you hoping to remain in Canada and work full-time? Join the immigration consultants to learn what options are available to you.

You may be eligible to remain in Canada and work full-time with a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Topics that will be discussed include eligibility, when to apply, how to apply, when you can begin working after your last term, extending a dependent family member’s status in Canada, processing times, and more.

Please note:

  • The sessions in January and February are in AL 208. The sessions in March and April are in NH 1110.
  • Attendance is open to graduate-level (Masters and PhD) international students only. Undergraduate students can register for the undergraduate student session.
  • All sessions will cover the same material.
  • Immigration Information Sessions are where you should start if you are planning on extending or applying for an immigration document, or you want to learn about the immigration regulations related to an immigration topic.

To help keep our Waterloo community safe, the University has suspended all events that are not vital to the academic mission of the university. As such, all remaining winter 2020 immigration information sessions are cancelled. The University will continue to post updates to the COVID-19 website including public health guidance and academic information. During this challenging time, please take care of yourself and let us know if you have any event rescheduling questions.
