Campus mourns loss of student

Jonathan Campbell Bennett, a fourth-year Architecture student was fatally hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Rome on November 21.

"Our hearts go out to Jonathan’s family, and the University is doing everything it can to support them at this time. Students, staff and faculty in Architecture have all been informed of Jonathan’s untimely passing," said Anne Bordeleau, Director of Waterloo's School of Architecture.

Scam Alert - Kidnapping scam targeting Chinese students in Canada

Media outlets, as well as Toronto and Hamilton Police Services, are warning Chinese students in Canada about a recent scam. Victims of this scam have been found safe and, as far as we know, Waterloo students have not been targeted. However, we encourage students to be aware.

Canadian immigration changes permanent residents and international students should know

The Government of Canada has recently made some significant changes to its regulations. These changes will affect students who are seeking Canadian citizenship and international undergraduate students who may still be eligible for inclusion as a dependant on a parent's Permanent Residence application.
