Fall Break 2018 details

No classes on October 8-10. October 11 classes follow a Tuesday schedule. October 12 classes follow a Wednesday schedule.

The first holiday of the term is Thanksgiving; Monday, October 8. There are also no classes on Tuesday, October 9 and Wednesday, October 10 for Fall Break Study Days. Students should be back on campus for classes on Thursday, October 11 – following the Tuesday class schedule - and on Friday, October 12 – following the Wednesday class schedule.

New and returning students begin classes and lectures today (and Orientation continues until Saturday). Campus will be busy, but keep an eye out for faculty, staff, and student volunteers wearing yellow Here to Help buttons to answer your questions or help you find your class.

Scam Alert - Virtual kidnapping scam targeting Chinese students

The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto is warning of a kidnapping scam targeting international students from China and Chinese Canadians. These incidents of telephone fraud, virtual kidnapping and extortion are happening in the Greater Toronto Area and across Canada. As far as we know Waterloo students have not been targeted, but we encourage students to be aware.

International Student Advising has changed its title

As of today, International Student Advising in the Student Success Office has changed its title to Immigration Consulting. Service delivery has not been impacted. Immigration Consultants will continue to provide immigration consulting services free-of-charge to all international students.
