Canadian immigration changes permanent residents and international students should know

Tuesday, November 7, 2017

The Government of Canada has recently made some significant changes to its regulations. These changes will affect students who are seeking Canadian citizenship and international undergraduate students who may still be eligible for inclusion as a dependant on a parent's Permanent Residence application.

As of October 11, 2017, significant changes to the Canadian citizenship application requirements took effect. This will have an impact if you are a Permanent Resident of Canada looking to become a Canadian citizen.

As of October 24, 2017, the age of a dependent child with regards to Canadian immigration has increased from under 19 to under 22. This may also impact some applications submitted prior to the change.
