The Student Leadership Program (SLP) is a broad-based, experiential series of workshops available to current University of Waterloo students (undergraduate and graduate).

The program has been designed so that all students can participate regardless of whether they are currently in a leadership role. The purpose of these workshops is to explore and enhance your leadership capabilities, and to help you gain knowledge and develop skills in leadership on campus and within the community.

Program details

  • Workshops are free to any current UWaterloo student (you must be registered in the term)
  • You can complete the 12 workshops in any order and at your own pace throughout your university career
  • By completing all 12 workshops, you are eligible to receive an E-Certificate
  • This program does not qualify for university credit

Facilitators

SLP workshops are facilitated by upper-year undergraduate and graduate students. The SLP Team Leads and Facilitators are enriching student leadership opportunities for current students. Positions are part-time, paid roles, and are typically hired in winter term on a one year contract.

Workshops

There are 12 workshops offered within the Student Leadership Certificate Program (SLP), each taught by a UWaterloo student facilitator that has completed the program.

Out of respect for our facilitators and participants, the Student Leadership Program upholds a strict no-late policy for workshops. If you arrive after the workshop has begun, you will be required to complete the workshop at a later date.
