 ch month. The first\nsession\, featuring Dr. Ranjan Datta from Mount Royal

 nique approaches to decolonizing research\,\nand how they conduct research
  that is inclusive\, mindful of local\ncultural practices and sensitive to
  diverse research contexts. Among\nparticipants\, we will collectively exp
 lore the meaning of\ndecolonization as it pertains to sustainability resea
 rch\; to re-think\nour approach to and purpose of research\; and to explor
 e ways to design\nand conduct Respectful Research.\n\nThis speaker series 
 is organized as part of a student-led initiative\nand sponsored by STEC.\n
 \nABOUT DR. RANJAN DATTA\n\nDr. Ranjan Datta\, Canada Research Chair- II i
 n Community Disaster\nResearch at Indigenous Studies\, at Mount Royal Univ
 ersity\, Calgary.\nRanjan’s research interests include advocating for co
 mmunity-led\ndisaster research\, decolonizing environmental sustainability
  research\,\nenvironmental justice\, responsibilities for decolonization\,
 \nanti-racist perspectives in climate change\, and cross-cultural\ncommuni
 ty empowerment. He has a total of 40 peer-reviewed publications\non commun
 ity-led environmental sustainability issues\; has recently\npublished a bo
 ok Indigenous Perspectives on Land-Water Management and\nSustainability (R
 outledge)\; and has edited two books\, Reconciliation\nin Practice: A Cros
 s-cultural Perspectives (Fernwood Publishing) and\nIndigenous Reconciliati
 on and Decolonization: Responsibility\, Social\nJustice and Community Enga
 gement (London: Routledge).
