Keystone 101: FAQ

Students at work

What is the Keystone Campaign?

The Keystone Campaign invites faculty, staff and retirees to make charitable gifts to the University of Waterloo. Each year, members of our campus community support a range of special projects and areas of interest in order to enrich education, research and student life.

Why should employees give to Waterloo?

By giving to Waterloo, we demonstrate that we believe in the value of our work — developing future leaders, producing important research and supporting our community partners. We also inspire others to consider how they might make a difference at our University.

What will my gift support?

You can direct your gift to an area that’s meaningful to you. Support a faculty, special projects, research, scholarships or student services — or give to the University’s highest priority. We’d be happy to help you find the right fit for your charitable goals.

How can I make my gift?

Visit our donation page and select the method of your choice. You can make a gift by mail or fax, by credit card or by payroll or pension deduction.

Will my gift qualify as a charitable donation?

Yes. If you make a gift by payroll or pension deduction, your T4 statement will show the amount you contributed and will be used to calculate your personal income tax. If you choose to make other payment arrangements, you will receive an official tax receipt for your records.

Where can I find more information?
