Laurel Society

Established in 1998, the Laurel Society honours individuals who indicate they are giving a planned or deferred gift (such as a bequest, life insurance, or charitable gift annuity). These gifts will:

  • endow new scholarships to recognize the academic excellence of our future students
  • provide funds for special projects within the faculties and schools
  • furnish critical resources for the highest priorities of the University, a department, faculty, or University college.

For more information, contact Joanne Stewart

Circle and Society members receive:

  • updates on University and University college achievements and activities, through communications and special events
  • opportunities to meet and talk with other leading supporters of the University at special events
  • access to selected campus facilities and services
  • the satisfaction of helping to ensure the continued excellence of the University

Bill Goetz

Bill Goetz, a retired business executive, established the Stella Margaret Callfas Bursary.

I wished to honour the memory of my dear mother who passed away at the much-too-young age of 37. I felt it only fitting to establish a bursary in her name, and having been born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, where better to establish it than at the pre-eminent educational institution, the University of Waterloo.
