PhD Candidate

Aravind KundurpiAravind is a PhD candidate in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management (GEM). His research interests are in climate change adaptation and mitigation, environmental policy analysis, and urban sustainability transitions. His PhD thesis will explore the governance implications for sustainability transitions using nature-based solutions to address urban climate change. Prior to entering the PhD program he was a sustainability planner with ICLEI Canada and produced biodiverCITIES: A Handbook for Municipal Biodiversity Planning and Management.

Aravind is an executive member of the Faculty of Environment’s Student Teaching Excellence Committee (STEC). He is responsible for organizing events for the graduate peer-mentorship program and student and faculty panels related to funding proposals, research methods, and PhD comprehensive exams.
