The Sustainability Office has collaborated with Maison Vetre for the "Growing in Small Spaces" workshop. This is an exciting opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding on growing your own food in the comfort of your own space.

Growing your own food is an excellent way to gain a deeper connection with your meals. A nutritious diet can positively impact your mental and physical health. It is a great way to dramatically lower one’s carbon footprint, and a step towards maintaining a more sustainable lifestyle. Learning to grow greens indoors in a skill that is easy to pick up and does not require expensive supplies or a lot of space. Once you have mastered the basics, you will be able to grow your own greens regardless of seasons from the comfort of your kitchen. Our workshop is inclusive of all dietary restrictions and living spaces. We will teach participants how to handle microgreens safely, provide information on seeds, and share basics on nutrition. We will walk participants through the stages of growing and harvesting their greens, as well as some tips on using them in recipes.

When: The workshop will take place on October 7th 2021 at 6:30 PM EDT.
