Take part in our Earth Month Photo Contest and share your sustainable photos with us! Go on a fun eco-adventure, make a trip to the market, or share a photo of yourself enjoying the outdoors. We're looking for any photos related to sustainability! Post your photo using #sustainableuwaterloo and follow us on that social media account to be entered in a draw to win some great prizes!

Prizes:

  • 1st prize: $100 gift card to MEC
  • 2nd prize: $50 Earth Month prize pack
  • 3rd prize: $20 WatCard top-up

The deadline for submission is April 22nd at 11:59pm.

Contest details

How to enter
  1. Submit a photo to either Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook. Themes can include, but are not limited to, the following: 
    • Transportation – Bike racks, taking the bus, or walking to class
    • Academics – Working on a sustainability project or assignment, field work
    • Engagement – Attending a sustainability related event on campus
    • Grounds – Gardens/natural spaces
    • Food – Fair trade/eco labels and local food
    • Waste – Proper waste management, composting etc.
    • Energy – Energy conservation
  2. There are four options for submission:
    1. Post your photo on Instagram using #sustainableuwaterloo and follow the account
    2. Tweet your photo using #sustainableuwaterloo and follow the account
    3. Upload your photo to Facebook using #sustainableuwaterloo and follow the account
    4. Email your photo to sustainability.coop@uwaterloo.ca
  • Submit or post your photo between Saturday, March 24th, 2018 at 8:00 AM and Sunday, April 22nd, 2018 at 11:59 PM by email, Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook.

Who is eligible
  1. All students, staff, and faculty at the University of Waterloo are eligible for this contest.
  2. By submitting a photo to the Office of Sustainability you confirm the following:
    1. You agree to the rules and conditions of this contest.
    2. You grant the University of Waterloo a royalty-free, non-exclusive right in perpetuity to distribute, display and reproduce your photograph without attribution in any form of media. This includes allowing third-parties to share the photograph on their social media networks.
    3. You are the owner of the photograph.
