During the Week of October 16th – October 20th, the University of Waterloo partnered with the Sustainability Office and participated in its first ever Zero Waste Week as part of the national Waste Reduction Week campaign.
Each year, Waterloo publishes a summary of the actions that students, staff and faculty have taken across campus to reduce our environmental impact. From new research projects to student events to ongoing changes to policy and practice, it is inspiring to see the dedication and involvement of so many people in our University community.
June was Bike Month across Waterloo Region! In partnership with TravelWise, the Sustainability Office challenged cyclists to different activities and tasks throughout the month to promote the use of active transportation to campus and celebrate those who have committed to cycling.
The fourth annual Eco-Summit took place on Wednesday, July 12th at St. Paul's Alumni Hall to celebrate progress, create ideas, and build relationships with campus sustainability champions and community members.
