Michelle supports the design and execution of communications and programming for the Sustainability Office. Working alongside the Communications & Engagement Manager Andrea Bale, she helps foster collaboration and education for on-campus sustainability efforts. This includes initiatives such as the Office's newsletter, website, and social media accounts, in addition to events such as Earth Month and Bike Month. 

Michelle brings a host of experiences in climate-focused advocacy and community-building from the non-profit sector, social impact space, government, and student organising. They have worked with organisations such as ReImagine17 (a youth-led non-profit), Good & Well Inc. (impact investing), and the Green Party of Ontario.  

Michelle remains active in community networks related to sustainability and climate justice, including: 

  • Regional Organiser for Southwestern Ontario, Climate Reality Project Canada 
  • Member of Fossil Free UW (divestment)  

Michelle served as the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association's (WUSA) first Sustainability Commissioner. She is also a WWF Living Planet Leader and was named a Top 25 Environmentalist Under 25 by Starfish Canada.
