Abstract

This work centers upon the recycling system on the campus of the University of Waterloo. This study grew out of the researcher’s desire to continue work started in 1991 in a project called Campus Attitudes. The purpose of this study are to ascertain what changes have occurred in student attitudes with respect to recycling between Fall 1991 and Winter 1994, and to attempt to influence students and decision makers in order to improve the recycling system on campus. The goals of this study are to assess present student views and practices on recycling and to educate students in an attempt to increase student participation in the recycling drive. Student response must guide administrators as to what students want. While administrators run the system, the system is for the students.
