Abstract

A five-day waste audit was completed during the week of February 10 to 14 for Mudie’s, the cafeteria in the Village One residence, at the University of Waterloo. It was completed as a component of a waste audit of the entire University campus, as well as a component of a waste management course (ERS 317). The purpose of this study is to determine the quantity and type of waste generated by patrons of Mudie’s Cafeteria. Much was learned about the amounts and types of waste being created in dining area of the cafeteria. This information will prove useful for the University’s goal of waste reduction on campus.
