You're invited to join Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs (GSPA) for a virtual showcase of the 2023 GRADflix finalist submissions before the winners are announced. Be part of the action! The showcase will be streamed live on the GSPA YouTube channel and will feature amazing research videos, special guests, and more. Register through Eventbrite to attend virtually!

Name and program: Ali Noormohammadi Asl (he/him), PhD candidate, Systems Design Engineering, Faculty of Engineering
GRADflix video title: Human robot collaboration
Supervisors: Dr. Kerstin Dautenhahan, and Dr. Stephen l. Smith
Biography: Ali is a PhD candidate in the Systems Design Engineering Department at the University of Waterloo.
Name and program: Chi-en (Amy) Tai (she/her), MASc student, Systems Design Engineering, Faculty of Engineering
GRADflix video title: Improved treatment of breast cancer.
Supervisor: Dr. Alexander Wong
Biography: Amy Tai is a Master of Applied Science student in the Vision and Image Processing Lab at the University of Waterloo. Her research interests include cancer diagnosis and prognosis, medical imaging, and computer vision. Previously, she completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Management Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Outside of research, she enjoys hiking, travelling, rock climbing, playing squash, and swimming.
As an audience member, you will have the chance to cheer on the finalists and vote for the People’s Choice winner from the comfort of your own home. Every vote counts – pick your favourite! The first place winner receives $750. Prizes will also be awarded to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place contestants, and to the People’s Choice winner. In addition, for the first time this year, GreenHouse is sponsoring a sixth bonus prize of $250 for the “most compelling social impact story.”
